There were a lot of material shortages during the war and I believe that IH used magnetos on some of their war models. I believe that they also left off electrical systems. No starters, generators, or lights. The only electrical parts were the magnetoes, plug wires, and plugs. As for the John Deeres, the old models had a cast frame, the later ones had a pressed steel frame.
