I have a Ford 3000 gasoline tractor (1969). I've looked through my manuals but I cannot find the exact horsepower (between 35 and 40). The diesel has a maximum rpm of 2000 and an idle rpm of 600 - 700. I use a 5' bush hog which I had purchased years ago for an 8N. You could probably go a little larger if you wanted. I also use a 2 bottom, 14" plow on it. I'm not sure if it could handle a 3 bottom plow since I don't have one to try on it.
