The Case O matic transmission is a good transmission. It is important to make sure that it has good clutch pressure (there is a small guage on the left side of the consol). I have a Case 630 gas with the Case-O-Matic transmission and have never had a problem with it. It is conveniant for backing up implements and transporting loaded waggons. If the transmission is not in direct drive it can be driven like a automantic car transmission (you can stop it by puting your foot on the break). It is very important to keep the transmission fluid changed at regular intervals.
Price may vary depending on options. The 530 is avalible with eather a 8 speed trans, a tripple range trans (12 speed), and the case-o-matic trans. It was also avalible with eather a gas or a diesel engine. If my memory serves me correct it is a 45 horse engine. Case engines are very dependable so you don't need to worry about engine problems.
