Unidentified Ball Bearings

I just bought a box full of new-old-stock New Departure bearings. They are similar to a Timkem bearing (2 piece) but have balls instead of rollers. The seller thought they were used on older cars or tractors but I've never seen this type bearing on anything. The part numbers all start with the number 909--- and the bores range from 3/4" to 1.5" Any ideas as to where these were used?
