I have a altenator on it now. When I bought it there was one already on it. The problem is they moved it to the left side of the tractor, cut a square out of the hood right where the H in the circle is and bolted it onto the govenor housing using the original bracket. I need to move it back to the right and put it under the hood. This takes some modifacations to get it to work. I can do it, but you have to get a idler pulley mounted, and put the altenator up where the top is higher than the valve cover. I have seen it done on two of my friends, but to get the proper setup it cost $30.00 for the pulley and the bracket. Not to mention the taking of of the hood, fan shroud, time on welding it just right. It takes a lot more time to do that, than to get a 12 volt generator and just bolt it back in place and be done in 10 mins. Thanks for the info though! Bill {Antique Acres}

But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo. ... [Read Article]
