I'd say everyone agrees that a pit is bad news for seals. One thing that you might try is electroplating nickle over the pit and then polishing back down. Possibly you can find someone who has a kit to do small gun parts and the like, or you can buy a cheap kit. I remember JC Whitney used to sell a kit to rechrome bumpers, but would hardly expect to get invisible results on that one. Should work well though for small patch jobs. Then use a stiff cotton buff and an emery grease stick to polish the patch job smooth. Another possibility is hitting the junk yard and finding another piston assembly off of a Ford, or another big truck that used the slave cylinder setup, then adapt to fit. Best Luck. Jeff King
