Farmall B steering.

I am restoring a 1945 Model BN although someone converted it to a B, My question is how do you separate the steering column near the u joint? I removed the pins but still cannot separate the shaft. It will be awkward to do the entire resto with the steering wheel connected to the front section of the tactor.
