The other post was very much right on. Although CDL does stand for Commercial Drivers License, the key word there being Commercial. That is how RV's get around it. And for the fifth wheel part if that was true no one would be able to pull a fifth wheel trailer or gooseneck. If you have a trailer of that caliber more than likely you are going to be using it for something that combines the trailer and load to be more than 10,000 lbs. I know my Farmall H by itself weighs 4,250lbs. You add the trailer and everything else you haul when going to a show and you are pretty close with a H. Think of a M or a JD R. Don't get carried away and haul for money, but don't worry about hauling your tractor either. Remember the word Commercial. If this applies then think CDL. One thing to watch though is how your weight is loaded on the axles and what weight rating your trailer holds. Have fun, be careful, and bind everything don't ever leave a doubt that it could come off. Sorry for the lenght, but I hope this helps. Bill {Antique Acres}
