I use my 78 Blazer to jumpstart alot of my tractors in the Frigid Berkshire winters so I am justified in placing this question in the tractor board. It appears as though my thermostat is shot. I bought a new one and I am wondering if I need to drain the radiator to put it in since the thermostat is on the top of the 350cid block and not the bottom. Do I need to drain the radiator first or can I just pull the hose off and spill about an inch of antifreeze into a bucket prior to replacing the thermostat? Grateful for replies, Mark (Likes fixing tractors, not cars)
