Pulling Tractor. JD/IH????

I'm new to the antique tractor world, but not new to tractor pulling. I'm confused on what type of tractor would make the best all around pulling tractor. I have thought about JD A's and G"S and also Farmall M's. I don't really have a preference. I used to pull a JD 4430 which belonged to a family member, but I want to venture out on my own, and I have always had an interest in antiques. My heart is green, but I would have no problem running a red one and they are also cheaper. Money is a concern. I don't want to spend to terribly much and I've seen it done cheap and still win. I could use any advice that you (anyone) would be willing to give
