Jim, Absolutely!!!....you must be very careful when substituting a piston.especially if the top of it is domed...although not as critical in older tractors as in the newer engines..nonetheless....you have a very limtied space between the top of the pistons and the valves....a domed piston may actually hit the valves bending them..and causing a whole host of problems...in addition....the use of a domed piston will increase the compression ratio of the engine, making for a new set of problems...for one..you will probably experience pre-detonation or "spark Knock"...which can damage the engine, and will necessitate , at the very least, retarding the timing to compensate for it...it also may require a higher octane fuel... Depending on the year, model, fuel, timing adjustment limitations etc....this may not even be possible...if i can be of any further assistance to you please feel free to contact me at any time. steve
