Of course the possibility of getting water in the oil from the cooling system exists---cracked block, cracked head and that would be bad. However, that does not explain water in the transmission oil. It is a fact, that the surfaces and gaskets found at the top of the main case which cover openings into both the transmission and the crankcase are not always as watertight as they could be. If your tractor is often stored outside where rain, or worse---SNOW can get on it, it may simply be that over time a small quantity of water has gotten past what could be old gaskets around those openings. A good place to start would be the opeming under the gear shifter and the ones on the top of the crankcase itself. Change the oil and keep close watch on the level of coolant, and store the tractor inside. Another possibility with regards to the transmission oil, sometimes moisture condeses inside naturally, and over a period of time can build up and contaminate the oil. How long has the tranny oil been in there?
