Thanks for your response guys. Upon first inspection, radiator fluid was a little low, but didn't seem enough to have caused all the problem. I'm in South Texas wich is very humid and the tractor has been started a couple of times for short periods so that could be a problem - in addition to being stored outside. I can't tell you when the lube was changed last - we bought the tractor a year ago and everything looked fine then. Does anyone know the recommended oil weight for the crank case and for the gear/hydraulic system?? Called several JD dealers and they weren't much help. Thanks!
