I painted this tractor with a quart of paint. PPG acrylic urethane which was mixed 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner and 1 part hardener. So it comes out to a total of 2 quarts final. The cost was around $175 for the paint, primer, thinner, and hardener. Red paint is the most prone to fading because the cheaper paints do not use enough pigment. PPG IH red is almost $50/pint. I use an HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) gun which uses less paint than conventional paint guns. I sanded the tin work and power washed the rest, used an epoxy primer that doesn't need final sanding and painted it. Of course I masked what I didn't want red (oops forgot that tire!). Do a good job and use quality paint if you only want to do it once. Use cheap paint and do it over in a few years. I painted the flat top fenders I got for this tractor with cheap paint from Quality Farm and Country, they were in the heated garage for 2 months before I moved them and the paint rubbed off on the blanket I laid them on!! Not a good paint. Steven
