Like the other guys have said-depends if your working and just doing in your spare time, or you have nothing but spare time. I know I can take the average older tractor and tear it right down to little pieces(without breaking anything),put them through a hot tank, dry them and oil spray them ,inspect every part(all except trans /rearend casting) and bin them ,in 5 days . Did that for a year at a tractor wrecker -when I was about eighteen. Putting it all back together would probably take 2 weeks or more plus painting . A person could easily do it in a month- working steady at it, and do a thorough job. So it depends how hard you want to go at it, and how easily you can find parts. I'm a mechanic and most engine jobs (complete including doing clutch ,waterpump etc. which have to come apart anyway) take less than a week.
