In 1969 when I was 13 years old we bought a Massey Ferguson 1100. Now way back then 100 h.p. + tractors were very rare here in England and I felt like a little king driving that! When everyone around us had MF 165's Nuffields, David Browns and Ford majors, here we had this enormous great thing that would pull 5 14" furrows in heavy clay land or spin a 100" rotovator. To my young ears it must have sounded thrilling because instead of going "la la la la" it's 6 cylinders went "GRRRRRR!!!" It my sound funny , but people used to come down to the farm just to watch this "rare bird", and this tiny little lad driving it, my small frame barely big enough to fill the seat! I remember how low I used to have to adjust this {hydraulically operated )seat,in such a low position so I could reach the pedals.. nowadays it would seem a small tractor, but way back then it looked gigantic. We ran that tractor every year until we sold up in 1996. and I must say in all those years it gave us little or no trouble.

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
