You should be able to get something very nice in that price range if you shop around. You'll want a utility type tractor (low slung, more stable) with power steering (for loader work) and a 3 point hitch (fits all commonly available attachments, including your finish mower). Other major considerations are gas or diesel (gas is cheaper and easier for amateurs to work on, diesel is cheaper to run, generally more fuel efficient, often has more torque) and gear shift or hydrostatic transmission. Gear is cheaper,less complex and less likely to break down (IMHO); hydro is easier for a beginner and handier for mowing and loader work. Brand is pretty much up to you, major consideration is having a dealer who will back you up and is reasonably close by.
