I would much rather have an older tractor, but those compacts are made to get into tight places. Diesels are easy to maintain and pretty reliable. Some people prefer a new tractor like a new car, for a piece of mind. Also, most all new compacts have 3 pt. hitch, which is a nice thing to have to be able to use modern equipment. Those little tractors are good for about mowing, but that's about it. A little box scraper or whatever is okay, but you can do so much more with a bigger tractor and scraper. Also, many of these little tractors are easy to transport as they are pretty light too.
