I farm a couple hundred acres with my 5 regular tractors. Always laughed at those compacts.

My brother in law got a beat up old Kubota 15hp B7100. Why we don't know, but he did. Anyhow he parked it here at the farm for a summer, & I used it to mow the lawn. Nice enough. As long as it was here, then I used it to run some augers - wow, nice for that! And then as long as it was here...

Well, in the past 2 years I have moved 20,000 bu of grain & earcorn plus 2000 bales of hay (couple gallons of fuel, sure is cheaper than the gas tractors!), sideraked some hay (dusty ride that close!), hauled spreaderloads of corncobs (old moving floor JD spreader, needs the 4wd!), dug post holes (real workout for the 3-point with 12" auger, thought maybe it would stand still & the tractor would spin around!), get rocks (doesn't compact the ground/crop), haul fencing supplies (I graize cornstalks in fall), ran my 3-point cement mixer to fix the barn foundation (25 sacks so far...), split wood (I have a screw-type pto splitter), and used it to move all sorts of odds & ends around the farm.

Kinda wish I would find one for $2500 like his - I think he got a good deal, altho it is beat up. I can't see the new price cost on them, that is just way out of the ballpark!

Today's Featured Article - Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead! I pulled the head, and soaked the stuck valves with mystery oil overnight, re-installed the head, and bingo, the compression returned. But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga ...
