Drive the puppy. I had to make a round trip to Anchorage from Newcastle WY Christmas of '95. As I started I blew the rear seals in my pickup. The only thing left was my 1951 Chev. 1 ton flat bed. The 12 gal gas tank and about 8 mpg bothered me so I put a 300 gal tank in the bed and plumed it into the fuel line. I drove from Wyoming to Anchorage without stopping for gas. (sure had to p@@ when I got there). Dead of winter. I wouldn't have missed the experience for anything. If I do it again I would take chains.
