ACCORDING TO A BOKK ON IH BY RANDY LEFFINGWELL IH ENGINEERING WAS PUSHED TO QUICKLY TO INTRODUCE A NEW TRACTOR EVERY 2 YEARS (SAME AS AUTOMAKERS BACK THEN.) AND BASICALY PUT THE NEW DESIGNED 6 CYL MOTORS ONTO A FARMALL M REAR SECTION. THE GAS MOTORED 560 DID'NT HAVE TO MANY PROBLEMS BUT THE DIESELS DID. IH HAD DESIGN NEW REAREND PARTS TO HANDLE THE TORQUE. THE IH 660 WAS WORSE. IH NEVER REALLY RECOVER FROM THAT AND POOR MANAGEMENT/HIGH INT RATES IN THE LATE 70'S AND EARLY 80'S AND TO MUCH PRODUCTION DID THEM IN. THE 806 WAS A GOOD TRACTOR THEY WENT THREW 24,000 HOURS OF TESTING BEFORE PUTTING TO FULL PRODUCTION. TO OTHER POST BY ANDY ALL OF THE 560 AND 660 WERE REPAIRED AT IH COST UNDER WARRENTY SO ANY ONE WHO HAS ONE NOW SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY TROUBLE. LONG LIVE IH NOW IN THE NEW McCORMICK TRACTORS BUILT IN DONCASTER UK PLANT. I SAW ONE A C70 SAME REAREND TRANSMISSION FENDERS AS MY IH 484 THEY ARE STILL BUILDING BASICALLY THE SAME TRACTOR AS IH DID IN THE LATE 70'S. WHAT CAN YOU SAY THE IH 84 SERIES, CASE IH 85, 95, 4200, AND C, CX SERIES. WERE AN EXCELLENT DESIGN. STILL BEING USED.

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
