Here in Minnesota a popular dairy feed is combining: really, really good quality alfalfa (small bales, large bales, stored wet in a silo as haylage) corn (dry kernal, high moisture [kernals & some cobs kept in a silo wet], silage [the whole corn plant chopped green & stored wet in a silo] extra protien bought as soybean meal, beet pulp, molasses, etc. (You won't use your soybeans directly, need to be roasted at least.) Minerals & vitamins purchased Generally it is most ecconomical to be using several 'Agbags' for silage of alfalfa, highmoisture corn, and corn silage as a base. Almost all of the above items are mixed together in a TMR mixer to make just the right nutrition of the feed to give them what they need for max milk production. The name of the game is to give them enough fiber to keep them healthy, and enough protien to produce the most milk. Anything less in today's world and you will be working very hard milking 2 times a day 7 days a week, and not getting anything for it. There are alternative methods, intensive grazing & milking over summer, resting in winter. Or organic sytems with premium prices for milk. You need to find the markets for these first, before jumping in. --->Paul

I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
