There were no factory gas "G" tractors. After production ended, Deere sold a "kit" to convert the G to gasoline, but there are no official Nebraska test values for a gas G to compare to a 70. Both tractors were offered with DISTILLATE engines and the G at 38.89 vs the 70 at 45hp indicates there were improvements. My guess is that a hypothetical gasoline G would have about the same hp as a 70, especially with the 412.5 cid engine. Of course, there are "tuners" out there who can extract quite a bit more than that, but they don't build their tractors to do stock, farm work, do they? Any speculations on what a diesel version of the G could have been like?
