My brother-in-law has a 1 ton crewcab, single rear wheel 4x4 with the 6.2 and auto trans. You are correct they are not a power house. But it will move a load if you are not in a hurry. I always suspected his has a final gear made for road not towing. He is happy with it as it does all he needs and gets good mileage. He says 24mpg on highway and 10 to 11 towing 7000 lb. boat. I have a Ford f250 with 7.3 non-turbo with 5 speed manual and 4.10 rear gear. It is a 92 with 279,000 miles now and still going strong. Best truck I ever owned. I get 19 to 20 on highway and 12 towing 11,000 lb. RV. You will have to decide what is right for you.

I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
