Multiple variables on the king of bulldozers. An old, large Cat, like a D7, could be parked with a twin, one with 10K of repairs, and you would have to observe closely for differences. Undercarriage condition is a big ticket item. After market parts stamped "Poland" or "Italy" seem common on older Cats,as the steel seems softer than original, and tears up quicker in gravel pits, shunned by owners of late series dozers. Speculating on old bulldozers is not advised for novices; you need experience. Cat built great machines, but rebuilding an old D7 may cost you your car and 4x4. Good luck!
