I know how you feel. I have 2 tractors and bought a full size V8 pickup instead of a compact just so towing the tractors on occasion could be done. You see ad after ad that talk about towing massive loads. You then get hit time and time again with well the weights advertised are for specially equiped 3500's and the 1500's are around 5000 to 7000lbs. Then you find at least 1500 of the 7000 is the trailer itself then they tell you the 7000 trailer has a 5000 hitch. Next you hit the trailer brake controller stuff. Seems the trucks trailer wiring that's advertised standard doesn't provide for trailer brakes. All I wanted was to tow the damn tractor 8 miles or so 6 times a year. I was trying to do things right but I'm used to seeing a small 4cyl Nissan pickup loaded with 2000+lbs of mulch. Well I put off the trailer purchase for now. I did get a 7000lbs receiver before putting off the trailer purchase and one day I'll get that 7000lb rated trailer with a 7000lb rated hitch and surge brakes (so the aformentioned Nissan owner can borrow it and pull his Ford 601 on it w/o borrowing my truck. Also with surge brakes I will not have to bang my knee on that brake controller in my truck. I figure 7000lbs of trailer and hitch will be fine for whatever I put on it and regardless of what my truck is rated at I'm better off with it than a compact.

But alas, my carb foiled me again, it would fire a second then flood out. After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
