It seems you have a valid reason. It would require several hours of use to pay for the time and inconvienance of converting. What would you estimate your yearly use to be? The tanks on the professional conversions I mentioned earlier sat where the original fuel tanks were. The hoods had to be modified. I do not think this would be practical for the 8N. You could mount a small tank like used on many small forklifts on a mount in place of a front bumper. This would give you the most visibility. Your best advice might come from a forklift service technician since many still operate on LP. I have seen some units 30 or more years old that have been refitted to use LP for inside use. This is making more sense all the time. I would not make any changes that could not be undone. You may be able to buy used equipment off a junk forklift for most of the conversion. Best of Luck!
