There is always someone laughing at what the next person buys.... JD has a very strong reputation, their stuff sells for a permium used. I am not at all familiar with 1980's & newer JD, but the older ones sell for more now than they did new. They have very good trannies, good power & so on. Around here you are kidded that you are too rich if you buy green. Farmall/International is the cheaper alternative around here - good machines, the trannies (TA) need repairing more often, but not terribly expensive to do so. Everything else is a bit off the beaten path. Smart folks buy Olivers, they had very good trannies, nearly indestructable, and the right models had good engines, and they often sell cheap because they aren't the right shade of green - they are a very good value for the investment. That's the wisdom from these parts. --->Paul
