Not only is stability a consideration but you have to think about running an airblast sprayer, and tillage on your hills. A compact tractor will not last. The size of your tractor will also depend on the row spacing of your grapes and trees as well as the method of treliss that you use. Last fall I tried three tractors quite extensively. First was a 2wd JD 6210, narrowed to the minimum. This was the absolute cadilac of tractors! But, I have a mixture of 10ft and 9ft rows (old plantings and new) and I'm growing the grapes on a 4-cane kniffen system. I could not take this tractor down the 9ft. rows. Next was a JD 5520N, it was nice, and I'll leave it at that. Then I tried a New Holland TN75F MFWD with the supersteer, and man what a tractor! Even with the 14.9-24 rear tires (radials) a 3-tooth subsoiler was no problem. The cab was real quiet and well laid out. The extra length of the supersteer and the low hieght made ita very stable tractor. I was very impressed. My point is, try before you buy, and ask around about the dealer's reputation for service. I tried to use an easy out but it wasn't budging and I didn't want t
