Good news for Oliver lovers. Sean Oliver, great-great grandson of John Oliver has acquired the Oliver name and logo from Agco and will once again be producing tractors at Charles City, Iowa. Engines and material will be barged in daily via the Erie Canal and area manufacturers are tooling up now. According to the Pellyton, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the engines will be built in their community and is a much needed shot in the arm for their local economy. The new tractors will tap the ongoing Retro nostalgic craze sweeping America since the PT Cruiser and will be based on the old 60 and 70 Standards with upgraded systems and features. Sean was recently quoted as saying "It's time an American tractor company stood up to the influx of foreign tractors in the vineyard and small farm market." Talk is now underway with Co-op of Canada LTD in a future joint venture to acquire the rights to Minneapolis Moline and reproduce limited numbers of an improved UDLX. (Thought you all might want to know and just sed those deposits to me, I'll see it gets to where it's going.) Boomer
