Hmmm, now that's strange. The "O" should represent an orchard model, and the "R" would indicate rowcrop (narrow fronted) wheel configuration. The "20" would be a model 20 which were made from 1946 till 1948. But, a serial number book I have here shows no reference to the 20 ever having an orchard model. If it was a regular gas rowcrop, it would be a 1948 whose serial numbers started at 3584 so the 4697 would be about 900 or so from the start of that year's production. Production of the 20 started in 1946. I don't know what the last serial number was before the model changed to the model 22 also in 1948. Was there any streamlined extra sheet metal like you'd find on orchard models? Where abouts are you getting this number from? That engine is a 4 cylinder Continental flathead of probably 140 or 162 cubic inch displacement.
