Chuck by all means paint the inside of the rim before you mount it to contain the rustting. I haven't tried this yet but,a fellow told me when you mount the tire get some saran wrap and put between tire and rim then blow tire up,and the tire is ready to paint,when finished painting trim off saran wrap and you got a neat job.Like I say I haven't tried this yet but I sort of like the Idea,I got a JD "G" on my restoring stand I'll probably try this on Gman
