I dont think diesel has lead in it,but tractor fuel can have dye in it,red means its for off road use and they shouldnt charge you road use tax on it.Thats about 30 cents a gallon differnce. If you buy from a truck stop they should take the road use tax off,but its higher priced for truck fuel because they filter it to take out the sulphur, which they dont have to do for tractor fuel.Truck fuel is kind of yellow or blue but you can see through it,off road fuel is dark, you might be able to see through it but not as good.
