If you have back problems you might want to look at some of the Kubota's. The link I provided goes to some that have shocked suspension on the rear. I have driven them and they ride very smooth, so if that is a concern with your back, you can beat them, really. It's smoother than driving a car. Those models are belt driven and gas powered, but if you get up to the diesel one they don't have the rear suspension, but are shaft driven and can have a hydraulic lift and power steering. Cub Cadets are nice and durable as well, though they don't seem to ride as smooth to me. There is nothing wrong with a belt driven lawn mower as long as it is operated like it is supposed to, alot of people that cuss them that I see at the dealer, well, ask them what they try and use the tractor for and over 75% the belt broke and/or the tranny is messed up because of the way in which it was operated. The dealer I work for just started carrying White outdoor products this year, and I have been here at school, so I haven't been home to know what kind of luck they are having with them, but from what I hear they are supposed to be #2 to cub cadet.
