James, I've used a 5'Bush Hog brand mower without a slip clutch for over 20 years and never tore anything up. Lucky? Probably! I cut samplings 1 1/2"--2", mostly mowing pastureland and fence rows, what ever can grow up in a year. Always tried to be carefull with it. Worst things I hit is probably fire ant mounds. I've pulled it with an 8N, Jubilee, to an 850. I use an OR coupler as another advised. As someone else said, if it is sitting out it probably 'ain't much', but you'll never know unless you check them out. ray
