Over the last thirty years, I've had AC, Melroe, with AC and Star bottoms, IH 720 (6-18) and White 4-18 and 5-18. White (Oliver) turns the best furrow. IH is very popular, but leaves a rougher field because the front bottom can be held up by a few cornstalks, rather than get down in the furrow where it belongs. It is due to the reset mechanism that slides over shallow rock (although it can trip fully on large rocks). White plows stay down where they belong, until they need to trip. Also, the cast parts on the 720 break due to metal fatigue from hammering on rocks over the years; the White plows stand up better. Had the 720 since 1980, the Whites for the last half dozen years.
