This isn't really a very informed opinion, (Ive never owned one) but I have always thought of the CASE-O-MATIC as being a T/A with the reputation of a CASE instead of the reputation of an IHC! None of those early torque converters, whether you called it Ampli-torque, T/A, Power Director or CASE-O-MATIC were really perfected very well. Most were really rushed onto the market without getting the engineering developement they really should have received. When they worked, people liked them. When they didn't---they became expensive. JMHO
