Good way to pull a post, but I'm not sure how well it will work for a stump if it's big with a lot of roots. If you do try this, BE SURE to hook your chain to the wheel in front of the axle and work in reverse. Hook the chain low enbough to the wheelspoke so that the effect is to lift straight up. This will keep the front of the tractor pushing into the ground. If you hook it to the back and try to pull in a forward gear, you run a serious chance of flipping the tractor back over on yourself. Same danger when pulling from a distance with the chain. Set you drawbar as low as it will go and hook the chain only to the drawbar. All of it's dangerous. If these are big stumps, I'd look into swapping out some work with someone who's got a blade and go straight at it to push it out. My 2 cents. Scotty
