A "Puller" is a tractor, antique or not, which has been modified to meet the weight specifications for any of several classes of "Tractor pulls". Such tractors have usually had serious equipment modifications, the addition of extra weight brackets, deletion of hydraulics and pto, oversize tires, wheelie bars, and all of the engine hop-up modifications the owner can afford. Such tractors are then used exclusively as entries in TRACTOR PULLS, an event that a whole lot of people consider fun. These events are also considered to be extensive "money pits" by the disafected spouses of the enthusiasts who do this sort of thing. A "Puller" can in no way be considered a "restored" tractor. Pullers may have had a rebuild which would put a true "restoration" to shame, but the end result is certainly not "factory". "Pullers" are often painted in colors the manufacturer never considered, and may be festooned with numerous "Stickers' promoting just about anything. Just so the "Puller"s on this board don't get agitated too much, I enjoy watching pulls, I just don't have any desire to actually DO IT. (See my comment RE: Moneypit)
