Also look at using an oil bypass filter. There are a handful of manufacturers. I put the OilGuard bypass filter on my 1998 diesel VW Jetta TDI. It allows me to extend by oil drain intervals. Amsoil also has a bypass filter system; it was too large to fit in my engine compartment.
