tnr, know the felling, just this week the deck on my dixion mower gave out on me, only 4 yr. old, rusted out, i could not pay the 800 for a new one so i started welding 3/4 by 1/8 in. steel strap all over the bottom of it and hope it will last the summer. but while i was fixing this mower i mowed the yard with my old cub, 1968 modle with a mott belly mower. bought the cub new and have not, and i mean have not done any repair to it. other than general mantaince and bearings on the mower. you could get a really good cub with a good mower for under 3500.00 and these cubs do trim up close and only need to use weed eater or round up for the rest. also you would have a good excuse to add to your old tractor collection.
