I had one on my first car, a 70 model chevelle. I hardly ever checked the oil much less change it. I did unpeal one once and was supprised to see all the tiny little shinny speck between each layer. Drove it for 5 years, had 76k when i bought it and over 150 when i loaned it to a needy couple with the understanding that i get it back when they could do better. A couple years later and living in Texas they needed to trade it so i just gave it to them. Never any exhaust smoke. They (frantz filters)don't sell well now because some oil company mentioned changing the oil every 3000 miles. My wifes saab 90 model with a turbo says not to change the oil until every 7000 miles. Its all a rip off if you keep the oil clean....
