Have any of you guys ever had problems with v-belts similar to this one? While recently working on my 2160 cub cadet pto clutch, I noticed that the belt was cracked on the inside and decided to replace it. For several years I have used NAPA B-108 belts instead of cub cadet as they are about 1/2 the price. The old belt that I removed was a B-108 and I installed a new B-108. I can't get the new belt to stay positioned correctly in the pto pulley. I install the new belt, start the tractor, engage the pto at very low speed and the belt remains in the pto pulley as it should. However, when I stand directly over the pulley with the hood open, I can see the belt vibrating considerably, even at slow speeds. If I increase the speed moderately, the belt will turn over in the pulley so that the back of the belt is contacting the pulley. After several times, I replaced the old belt (B-108) and everything runs normal. My only idea is that the new belt has a defect that causes it to vibrate enough to roll over in the pto pulley. Anyone with other ideas???

In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
