It depends on what HP tractor you put in front of that clutch!! I just bought an Howard HR 30 Rotavator. In the manual is tells the spring length for different HP tractors that may be used on this tool. "If" i couldn't find those settings for my tool, i'd loosen the springs, and slip the clutch a little to see that it's free. Then i'd tighten them evenly untill it no longer slipped with normal use with my tractor and conditions. Then i'd give each nut one extra turn. Don't let it slip with normal use, or you'll be buying clutch plates, and if the clutch is ajusted too tight for your tractor, it's just like not haveing any clutch at all!! (possible broken PTO parts) Robert
