Not that I am a real farmer but I have been trying to get a 20 acre U-pick operation going for the past 2 yrs. N. FL has been in drought for little over 4 yrs. now. Last yr. had extremely wet spring (late planting) followed immediately by no rain. What didn't burn up was lost when the rains returned and I had 3" standing water in my crops. This yr. was to be a good yr. based on long range weather forecasts (La Ninya). Right !! Crops planted on time, field work went well. Dry but cool spring. Looking good then DRY SPELL. Haven't had rain in over 40 days now it is hot. Corn isn't but waist high and trying to tassle out already, squash has blossomed but not much else. Beans and tomatoes just wilting away. Immediate forecast is for a cold front coming thru this weekend that will take its toll I am sure. Sparce rain likely. If the weather gods don't comply this yr. next yr. I am planting that field in best row crop I can grow - pine trees. Might even try leasing some land and run a few head of cattle. . . Hang in there, hope it gets better for you. Asking for rain in FL

The main focus of this page is to show how I upgr
