Before you get too far, turn the gas off and just let it sit for an hour or so. It might be that you just flooded it. Go back to it, turn the gas back on (there's a little valve on top of the fuel sediment bowl on the left side of the tractor just below the tank), then watch it for a minute to see if gas starts dripping. If it does, you probably have a stuck float or leaking needle valve and should rebuild the carb. If not, you just flooded it. Try again and don't choke it so much this time. My 8n only needs the choke for a few seconds, as soon as it fires I let the choke off, then maybe pull the choke for just a second a couple of times if it tries to die. Sometimes, if it's leaking fuel you can tap on the side of the carb with a screwdriver handle to free up the float and it will be good as new. Try that before the overhaul! Good luck, Kerry
