Kathy, I have an older JD,7ft cut, /w slipclutchs also a solid rubber tire. This shredder I have nicknamed "Ol Stilh" Because of the TREES this od shredder has eaten and spit out as bark mulch. I put 110 horses from a 966 IH through her. She is a 3 pt machine, the slip clutches take most of the shock when large multi trunk ceder trees 8 to 10 ft tall.Use the 3pt to lift as high as possible the lower very, very slowly! I have used this shredder harder tha it was ever designed .It was built around 1960 I would buy another in a heart beat. You probably won't use your this hard. Yes it will break if pushed far enough. You will pay more for JD but you get what you pay for. My $.02 John A.
