Don't know what you are mowing, but I was looking and looking and looking for a "good" 7' or 8'used rotary cutter last spring. Stumbled across a used 88" Alamo flail mower in my price range. Got it. Glad I did. Flail mower weight is close to tractor meaning you don't need as big a tractor for the mower because of weight. Also mower does not swing as wide when turning, nice in tight areas, and the mower does not seem to throw things like a rotary. Does fine on heavy thistles and small saplings. If not cutting heavy brush but more grass, weeds, or underbrush, would work well. Drawback is NOT A GOOD HEAVY BRUSHCUTTER... Just something to consider... Oh, picked mine up for $1,100.00 bucks, have mowed 60+ acers, only spent $50 bucks in repairs so far. Not bad in my book. Duane W.
