Well since you told him to cancel his order, and
since Valtra is your favorite brand. I assumed you were talking about a Valtra. The Valtra brochere I have shows the M100 series and the
smallest one (M700) at 70 PS HP, does not show the PTO HP as is typical of European tractor mfgr's. I assume that the PTO HP is around 60.
They are nice tractors. Better than the JD 5000
series, comparable to the JD 6000 series. The JD
5000 series were designed to compete with the
Ford/NH 30 series (3230,3430,3930,4630,5030) models. The Ford models were successful. Example
1965 4000 3 cyl 1999 4630 3 cyl. basically you
could buy the same basic tractor for 34 years.
JD could not beat them with a better tractor.
example 2150/2155, 2350/2355, 2550/2555. Because
of price. They brought out the 5000 series as the
answer. Sold a bunch of them. NH countered with
the TN series. As close of a clone of the JD 5000
series as you can get. The 5105/5205 Advantage
series were brought out as a cheaper tractor to
compete with the MF 231s, 240, and NH 3010 models
when compared to them, it beats them hands down.
1 Increased hyd flow, 2 forward to reverse synchro
shuttle. 2 examples. I priced one a 5105 2wd 1 scv at $15500.00 US dollars pretty good deal for
a new tractor. Compared to $7500-$10000 for 20-25 year old Ford 4000's. I have seen priced. I have a 1994 JD 2355 MFWD 55 PTO HP wt: 8500 LBS. Built in Mannheim Germany. Excellent tractor no problems with it in 8 years. also a 1969 4000 Ford 8x2 independent pto 4800 Hrs never done anything major to it, 1 clutch, battery
points (its gas).
