Mike it maybe could be too cold a plug, or a dam Champion, my friend just brought home a 60 last nite and started it up to show it off, asked what do you think, told him to get rid of the Champ plug and maybe the right cylinder would hit. Well we pulled the cover and sure enough a fouled/smoked up Champ. He's till trying to figure out how I knew, Put in a 388 autolite and it hits every time. What you really need to do is pull the plug and read it, or get some that knows how, it will tell you a lot about the engine. Ask him if he has been just puttsing around or working it and post back.
